Purposes of treatment
The personal information provided will be processed only for the following purposes:
- purposes closely connected and necessary to the fruition of the Site and Services required
- purposes connected with the conduct of research, economic analysis and statistics, information material and updates on initiatives and programs of the Italian Medicines Agency.
Treatment Modalities
The processing of personal data involves collecting, recording, organization, storage, modification, selection, extraction, comparison, use, interconnection, blocking, communication, dissemination, erasure and destruction of such data, including the combination of two or more of these operations. The processing of personal data shall be made for the purposes specified above in accordance with the requirements of Article 11 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003, either on paper, computer and telematics, through electronic or automated means in compliance with the confidentiality and security required by law. The data will be kept for a period of time that is necessary for the purposes for which they were collected or subsequently processed in accordance with existing legal requirements.
Nature of personal data and the consequences of a refusal to respond
The submission of personal data is optional. Refusal to confer them may cause the impossibility to use the site and benefit from its services. The optional, explicit and voluntary e-mail addresses listed on this site involves the acquisition of the sender, necessary to respond to requests, and other personal data included in the message.
Communication and dissemination of data
The data can be disclosed, in accordance with local regulations, to companies outside the Italian Medicines Agency responsible to perform various services, such as for example, maintenance and support of the Site and related services. Personal data are not disclosed.
Rights of the person concerned
The person concerned has the right to obtain confirmation of whether or not personal data concerning him/her exist, even if not yet recorded and their communication in intelligible form. He/she has the right to obtain information:
- Origin of personal data
- The purposes and methods of treatment
- The logic applied in case of treatment with electronic instruments
- The identity of the owner, manager and the representative appointed under article 5, paragraph 2
- Subjects or categories of persons to whom personal data may be communicated or who may become aware of as representative
- Designated in the State, managers or agents
The person concerned has the right to obtain:
- updating, rectification or, when interested, integration of data
- the cancellation, transformation into anonymous form or blocking of data processed unlawfully, including those that do not require conservation
- the purposes for which data were collected or subsequently processed
- certification that the operations referred to in points 1) and 2) were made known, including their contents, to those to whom the data were communicated or disseminated, except where this proves impossible or involves a manifestly disproportionate to the protected right.
The person concerned has the right to object, in whole or in part, the processing of personal data pertinent to the purpose of sending advertising materials or direct selling or for carrying out market surveys or commercial communication.

The Head of treatment, under Article 29 of Legislative Decree 196/2003, is the CINECA - Consorzio Internuniversitario in Via Manganelli 6, 40033 Casalecchio di Reno (BO) and legally represented by its President Prof. Mario Rinaldi.
